We never lose sight of what it means to be invited into one of the most important days in someone’s life. It is both our pleasure and our privilege.

We’re honored to be there for the moments that matter: the anticipation, the emotion, the laughter, the first dance, the packed dance floor, the late-night singalongs, and all the moments in between.

Because great music does more than sound good. It brings people together. It gives moments energy and emotion. It can change the way a room feels in an instant. And years later, it’s often that feeling people remember most.

We believe great sound is only the starting point. Any professional band should sound incredible, and we do. But the real difference is everything that happens beyond the music.

The People Behind the Music

At the heart of New York Edge is bandleader Rich Greenfield and his team of full-time professional musicians who perform at the highest level and bring years of experience and commitment to every celebration.

This isn’t a collection of musicians assembled for the night. Our musicians know each other, perform together regularly, know the music, and understand how to work together as a band. That familiarity creates the chemistry, confidence, and spontaneity that can’t be manufactured on the day of an event. They understand what it takes to create something that feels effortless from the outside.

And throughout the process, you work directly with Rich. There’s no salesperson or manager in between you and the person leading your band. From your first conversation through the final note, you’re working directly with the person who knows your vision, leads the band, and is there to make sure everything comes together as it should.

What makes New York Edge different from other wedding bands?

Great musicianship is the baseline. What matters is how the music makes the celebration feel.

We read the room, shape the energy, and know when to build, when to let a moment breathe, and when to let the celebration shine. From the first note to the last dance, we create a night that feels natural, exciting, and unmistakably yours.

Who will we work with throughout the music planning process?

You’ll work directly with the people responsible for your music, including Rich Greenfield, our bandleader and music director.

There’s no salesperson standing between you and the team creating your celebration.

From your first conversation through the final note of your event, we keep the process personal, responsive, and straightforward, with the people who know the music involved in the decisions that shape your night.

Can we customize the music?

A lot.

We’ll start with what you love, the moments that matter, and the atmosphere you want to create. From there, we’ll shape the musical direction, including must-plays, special songs, introductions, first dances, and the overall flow of the night.

You bring the vision. We bring the experience to make it work in the room.

Can you learn a special song for our wedding?

Yes. We regularly learn special songs for first dances, parent dances, ceremonies, introductions, and other meaningful moments.

If there’s a song that matters to you, tell us about it. We’ll work with you to determine the best way to bring it to life.

Will you help us plan the music?

Absolutely. Some couples know exactly what they want. Others want more guidance or prefer to have us take the lead.

Either way, we’ll help you make the important decisions without overwhelming you with them. We’ll talk through the moments that matter, the music you love, and the feeling you want your guests to have, then shape everything into a seamless night.

Can you provide music for the entire wedding?

Yes. We can provide music throughout the day, from ceremony and cocktails through dinner, dancing, and late-night celebrations.

Depending on what you envision, we can also combine live music and DJ services to create the right musical flow from beginning to end.

How do I know whether we should have a band, a DJ, or both?

It depends on the experience you want.

A live band brings exceptional musicianship, vocals, interaction, and the energy of live performance to the room, with the ability to make the music feel alive in the moment. The music can move effortlessly across styles and generations, with the band responding to the room and shaping the energy in real time.

A DJ brings a different kind of flexibility and flow, while moving seamlessly through an enormous range of music.

A Live Band + DJ Hybrid combines the two, giving you the live presence and energy of a band alongside the added flexibility of a DJ.

Can you accommodate different musical styles and traditions?

Yes. Our repertoire spans generations, genres, and musical traditions, and we regularly work with couples who want to bring different influences into their celebration.

We never want the music to feel like a checklist. We want it to feel seamless and true to you.

How large can the band be?

We offer a range of band configurations, from smaller ensembles to full-scale productions with multiple vocalists and a full horn section.

The right size depends on your venue, guest count, musical direction, and the kind of presence you want in the room.

We’ll help you determine what’s right for your celebration rather than simply recommending the biggest option.

Where do you perform?

We regularly perform throughout New York City and the greater NYC area, including Long Island, Westchester, the Hudson Valley, Connecticut, New Jersey, and the Hamptons. We also perform destination events.

How far in advance should we book?

We recommend reaching out as soon as you have your date and venue, especially for popular wedding dates. Availability varies, so if you already have a date in mind, it’s worth getting in touch.
